The Difference Between Love, Hate & Denial

Occasionally, I read the Letters to the Editor (New Bern Sun Journal). A lot of times I struggle with some of the posts. I recognize the difference between love and hate. Too often "Freedom of Speech", hate messages stir up more hate. It is amazing that some peoples spewing of verbiage (the throwing up of words) is taking as truth. To quote a few cliches: "The squeakiest wheel gets the grease" or "The loudest tones are heard".

I know that you too are smart enough to recognize hate. I really can not bring myself to believe that you are in denial, "rather believe a lie than the truth. I write this post with sincere concern about what people take in as truth or accept poison rather than food.

Be careful what you accept as the gospel. Often commentators and people in general, say things and expect others to believe every word that is being said. I recommend you do what I do, analyze what is being said, before you store other people's opinions away in your decision making memory bank. For example, just because someone says, "voters remorse" does not mean that they voted for the public official in the first place. It is used as a subliminal (below the threshold of consciousness) message. Really, did they poll you or as questions from multiple voters? Here is another, "a viable candidate" (workable) only means that someone is giving their opinion concerning the possibility that a candidate may or may not win a position. Again, I recommend that you do a little research, analyze the reasons why someone made the statement.

New Bern Aldermen Dept Head Compliance

The Aldermen of the City of New Bern decided in their last meeting (after installing the new City Manager: Michael Epperson), to keep in place a compliance issue. If you want to be a manager of a department, you must live here. Different people have their perspective and it should be respected. The department managers are available to handle the issues of the department, that it manages and he or she has a real stake of interest.
